MURCIA, Spain: Authorities said a nightclub fire over the weekend in the southeastern Spanish city of Murcia killed 13 people and injured several others.
Spain's state news agency EFE said the fire in the popular Teatre nightclub started around 6 a.m., and quickly spread through the venue.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
To avoid a possible collapse and locate and identify bodies, police and emergency services worked to secure the club's interior.
Officials said the death toll could rise further.
