Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], March 1 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in constant contact with the state authorities and has assured all possible help.
So far, 47 out of 55 Border Roads Organisation (BRO) workers have been safely rescued from the Uttarakhand avalanche site in the Mana village in Chamoli district, and an additional 14 civilians have been rescued by the Indian Army.
'We are trying to rescue the (BRO) workers as soon as possible. I had a telephonic conversation with PM Modi, and he has assured all the possible help... The PMO is in constant touch with us. 14 more people have been rescued, and all are doing well, the rest will be rescued soon,' CM Dhami told reporters in Dehradun.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the Uttarakhand Chief Minister and took stock of the rescue operation in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.
'Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji spoke on the phone and took information about the rescue operation being carried out to safely evacuate the workers trapped in Mana of Chamoli district,' CM Dhami posted on X.
'He also took detailed information on the situation of rain and snowfall in the state. During this, the Prime Minister assured that the central government will provide all possible assistance to deal with any emergency,' he added.
As many as fourteen civilians were rescued on Saturday morning from the Uttarakhand avalanche site in the Mana village in the Chamoli district.
Chamoli DM Sandeep Tiwari said, '4 choppers are being used in the rescue operation through the Army. Of the total 55 people, 47 have been rescued from Mana. We have brought seven people to Joshimath Hospital, and they are under treatment. They are under doctors' observation. Three of them are stable...I hope that the remaining people will also be rescued soon.'
