Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], March 27 (ANI): Odisha Minister Prithviraj Harichandan lashed out at the Opposition for the clashes outside the Odisha Vidhan Sabha and stated that this kind of hooliganism was not acceptable and unexpected.
Speaking to ANI, Harichandan said, 'The behavior that they showed yesterday and today is not acceptable. The kind of hooliganism they are showing is not expected from them...'
Further, he stated that they had appealed through the media for the opposition to join hands with them and implement the development process designed for the state.
'We are appealing through the media for the opposition to join hands with us and let's implement the development process that is designed,' he further added.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA CS Raazen Ekka said that democracy was being 'murdered' by the BJP government in Odisha.
'Democracy is being murdered by the BJP government in Odisha. When we are raising public issues, talking about the safety of women in the state, the BJP government is scared. As MLAs, we have the right to enter the assembly premises, but we are not being allowed to enter... The BJP government has proved that they are anti-women...' Ekka said, speaking to ANI.
Congress MLA Sagar Charan Das said that Congress would give a befitting reply to the BJP, further stating that they would gherao the Vidhan Sabha against the BJP.

Congress MP Koraput Saptagiri Ulaka said that the Odisha Chief Minister had failed, further stating that the issue would be raised in the Parliament.
'The Congress MLAs were beaten by the police last night and have been suspended. I am an MP and I have not been suspended; still, they are not allowing me to enter the Lok Sabha premises...The Chief Minister has failed...We will raise this issue in the parliament...' Ulaka said speaking to ANI.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena stated that Section 163 of BNSS has been in effect around the Assembly since the session commenced.
Further, he stated that the people who had jumped over the barricades had been detained and taken to the detention centre
'Section 163 of BNSS is in effect around the Assembly. This has been effective since the commencement of the session. Around 50 people jumped over our barricades and broke it to proceed further. They were brought under control at the eastern gate of the Assembly. They were detained and taken to a detention centre...' the DCP said, speaking to ANI. (ANI)
