New Delhi [India], March 29 (ANI): Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of creating disruptions whenever Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports are tabled in the House and said such behavior hampers discussions, adding that avoiding debate is not an appropriate course of action.
Speaking to ANI, Gupta said, 'Whenever the CAG reports are tabled, the opposition creates a ruckus and creates situations, which leads to them marshalling them out of the house. It is not good to run away from discussions.'
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ajay Mahawar also accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of attempting to evade accountability over the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report.
Speaking to ANI, Mahawar said, 'They (AAP) want to run from the CAG report and make excuses for the same. The posters are not being allowed, and they are also trying to disrupt the assembly. The opposition is being answered, and still, they are not participating. The speaker gave the right punishment for trying to hijack the Assembly sessions and made them out of the assembly.'
On Friday, Atishi, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly, along with other AAP MLAs, staged a protest in the Delhi Assembly against the BJP on the issue of Mahila Samridhi Yojana 2025.
Speaking to reporters, Delhi LoP Atishi accused the BJP government of not fulfilling the promises it had made during the elections, adding that it doesn't even intend to give Rs 2500 in the future. She further stated that when AAP MLAs questioned the government on this, they were removed from the assembly.
'The BJP leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised the women of Delhi that by March 8, Rs 2500 will be credited to their accounts, but the BJP government of Delhi did not fulfill this promise... When we asked questions in the House on when Rs 2500 will be credited into the accounts of women, one all our MLAs were thrown out of the House... this clearly means they haven't given money on march 8 and they don't intend to do so. It is clear that the BJP and PM Modi lied to Delhi and gave 'jumlas' in the name of promises,' Atishi said. (ANI)
