New Delhi [India], April 19 (ANI): Known for his powerful voice and meaningful songs, singer Kailash Kher has long been a beloved figure in Indian music. From spiritual hits like 'Bam Lahiri' to emotional tracks such as 'Yuhin Chala Chal' from Swades, Kher's music has always resonated deeply with listeners.
The Padma Shri awardee performed live with his band, Kailasa, at the grand launch of the Bhagva app here in the national capital on Friday evening.
Speaking to ANI at the event, the singer shared his views on contemporary music and why it often fails to connect with audiences.
When asked why many of today's songs feel meaningless, Kher said, 'These days, people want everything fast--happiness, peace, fun--and they want it quickly. I don't understand this formula... Peace never comes in a hurry.'
'Thode intellectuals badal gaye hain. Woh apni duniya chala rahe hain... Jaldi-jaldi kuch bhi likh rahe hain. Bina sar-pair ki koi baat likh rahe hain,' he added.
'Pehle kya tha, ek art tha, ek simplicity thi. Usko bhi craft ki tarah se jab pesh karte the toh dilon par asar karta tha..(Earlier, there was art and simplicity. When it was presented like a craft, it touched people's hearts,)' he added.
Kher and his band Kailasa delivered a soulful live performance, captivating the audience with some of his most iconic songs.
The grand event was attended by several well-known personalities, including Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari.
The Bhagva App is designed to help users with their daily spiritual needs. It allows people to book pujas, perform jaaps, get horoscope updates, and check the panchang for auspicious timings. (ANI)
