Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], May 12 (ANI): Rajasthan minister Madan Dilawar on Monday issued a stern warning to Pakistan against any further provocations, asserting that the Indian Army would respond firmly to any breach of trust.
'...Pakistan wants to be destroyed...The Indian Army will not spare it for showing its double standards,' Rajasthan minister told ANI.
Earlier today, signs of normalcy began to return to several border districts of Rajasthan, including Barmer and Jaisalmer, which had experienced heightened tensions due to unprovoked firing from across the border.
Barmer market showed shops open and people going about their day, with life returning to normal after recent tensions along the India-Pakistan border.
In Jaisalmer, a resident said, 'Everything is normal. The market is open; there are no issues during the day. Shops close around 7:30 pm. Our livelihood is not affected.'
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai apprised about his conversation with his counterpart, which resulted in cessation of cross-border firing and air intrusions by both the neighbouring countries, saying that the Pakistan army violated these understandings a couple of hours after the cessation of hostilities.
He added that Operation Sindoor was conceptualised with a precise military aim to 'punish the perpetrators and planners of the Pahalgam terror attack.'
The Indian strikes killed 'high-value targets', namely, Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf and Mudasir Ahmed, who were involved in the hijacking of IC 814, popularly known as the Kandahar hijack, and the Pulwama attack, where 40 CRPF jawans were killed in 2019.
India had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in reply to the ghastly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22
The terror attack had killed 26 people. India had struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan sought to up the ante with a series of unprovoked escalations using artillery guns and drones. (ANI)
