Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 9 (ANI): Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav on Monday criticised the BJP governments in the Centre and Uttar Pradesh.
As the BJP is celebrating 11 years of the Modi government, Yadav questioned the government over the issue of education, employment and economic activities.
The SP chief further alleged that there is a lack of coordination among the BJP-led Central and Uttar Pradesh governments, citing their ongoing schemes.
Speaking to reporters, Yadav said, 'There is a phrase in Hindi - 'Ek pe ek gyarah' and the second is 'Nau Do Gyarah'. This might be 11 years for them. If we add 11 years of the Central Government and about 9 years of the Uttar Pradesh Government, then the total comes to 20 years. The government will have to give an account of 20 years, in which it will tell what it has done for the people?... How far we have progressed in the field of education, how successful we have been in providing employment, the investment that we wanted to bring...'
'The people of Uttar Pradesh will analyse more because the Prime Minister himself is an MP from here. There is no coordination between Delhi and Lucknow. It is visible in the scheme that is currently running. If the villages which were adopted haven't changed, then it raises the question. The people of the BJP are working against each other... There are lots of questions on achievements and failures which will be analysed by the people.... There is large-scale unemployment and inflation in Uttar Pradesh,' the SP chief added.
Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a sharp attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, alleging that the last 11 years under BJP rule have caused serious harm to India's democratic institutions, economy, and social harmony.
Kharge further alleged that the BJP government has 'weakened' constitutional institutions and 'attacked' their autonomy.
In a social media post on X, Kharge wrote, 'In the last 11 years, the Modi government has caused severe damage to Indian democracy, economy and social fabric. BJP-RSS weakened every constitutional institution and attacked their autonomy. Whether it was stealing public opinion and toppling governments through the back door, or forcibly imposing a one-party dictatorship. During this period, the rights of the states were ignored and the federal structure was weakened.'
Notably, the year 2025 marks 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. (ANI)
