Howrah (West Bengal) [India], July 23 (ANI): Following the Duare Sarkar initiative, the Government of West Bengal has announced an initiative, titled 'Amader Para, Amader Samadhan' (Our Neighbourhood, Our Solution), which aims to empower people at the grassroots to directly shape the future of their booths. The programme will commence on August 2.
During her address at Nabanna on Tuesday, CM Banerjee said, 'The Government of West Bengal has undertaken a new initiative, 'Amader Para, Amader Samadhan'. We are the first to take such an initiative nationwide. Our officials will be present on the ground to listen to the people's concerns.'
CM Banerjee further added, 'Each centre will cover three booths, effectively forming one unit for a particular locality. The entire process will be done in a transparent manner. Since we have around 80,000 booths, it will take approximately two months to complete the entire programme. Officials will remain at each booth for an entire day. A designated space will be set up where villagers can come and share their concerns specific to the local area.'
The West Bengal CM further mentioned that the government will be spending over Rs 8,000 crore on this programme.
'We have sanctioned a special fund for this initiative. An amount of Rs 10 lakh will be allocated for every booth. In total, the Government will be spending over Rs 8,000 crore on this programme. The programme will begin on August 2. A dedicated task force will be formed to monitor the programme, which will be headed by the Chief Secretary. Task forces will be constituted at both the district and State levels. The police will also be involved to ensure smooth coordination and implementation,' CM Banerjee said.
This initiative will allocate Rs 10 lakhs to each of the 80,000 booths. There will be camps to cover three booths in every locality, and citizens can submit grievances and documents online. Task forces at the state and district levels will be headed by the Chief Secretary. (ANI)
