Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], January 21 (ANI): Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson CR Kesavan on Wednesday accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) of displaying a 'brazen and blatant' anti-Hindu mindset.
He criticised Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's 2023 remarks and questioned why Chief Minister MK Stalin had not condemned them.
Kesavan's remarks come a day after the Madras High Court quashed a case against BJP IT chief Amit Malviya, who had termed Udhayanidhi's remarks a call for genocide.
Kesavan also pointed to incidents where Karthigai Deepam celebrations were opposed and deliberately not greeting people on Deepavali, describing them as examples of flagrant abuse of the Hindu faith that the public is not going to forget or forgive.
In a post on X, Kesavan wrote, 'Will the Deputy CM Udayanidhi Stalin apologise for this toxic hate speech? Will the CM Shri. MK Stalin condemn these divisive remarks? Be it opposing the lighting of the Karthigai Deepam at the Deepathoon or deliberately not wishing people on Deepavali, the DMK's anti-Hindu mindset has been brazen and blatant.'

'Did the DMK leadership even utter a word, let alone initiate action against a former Union Minister & DMK MP when he outrageously remarked that Hinduism is a menace not only to India it but to the entire world. The people of Tamil Nadu are watching. They will not forget nor forgive such flagrant abuse of Hindu faith,' the post read.
The Madras High Court noted that the minister's 2023 remarks, which Malviya had labelled as a call for genocide, amounted to hate speech, leading to the FIR against him.
Back in 2023, Malviya posted on X, 'Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamilnadu CM MK Stalin, and a minister in the DMK Govt, has linked Sanatana Dharma to malaria and dengue... He is of the opinion that it must be eradicated and not merely opposed. In short, he is calling for genocide of 80% population of Bharat, who follow Sanatan Dharma.'
His remarks come after Udhayanidhi said at conference in Chennai previously that 'Sanatana' (Sanatan Dharma) is like malaria and dengue, which should not be merely opposed but eradicated.
'A few things cannot be opposed but should only be abolished. We can't merely oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria, or corona. They have to be eradicated. Rather than opposing Sanatana, it should be eradicated.' (ANI)
