Hubballi (Karnataka) [India], May 23 (ANI): Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 150 new recruits during the 'Rozgar Mela' held in Hubballi, stating that India's vast youth population will be the driving force behind global development in the coming century.
The event was part of a massive nationwide recruitment drive where, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, appointment letters were distributed to 51,000 individuals across more than 50 locations throughout the country.
In Hubballi, Minister Joshi inaugurated the program by lighting the traditional lamp. The 150 recruits received appointments for various sectors, including the Railways, Postal Services, Banking, and EI.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the growing culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship in the country, noting the involvement of a large number of youth from tier-1 and tier-2 cities, and women.
Addressing the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, PM Modi said that India has become the third-largest startup ecosystem globally. He affirmed that the change is visible in the country's tier-1 and tier-2 cities and not just the big cities.
'In the last few years, a new culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship has developed in the country. India is the 3rd-largest startup ecosystem in the world. There are over 2,30,000 recognised startups in the country... this change is not limited to big cities. These days, a large number of young people from tier-2 and tier-2 cities are also demonstrating their strength... The role of women's power is also continuously increasing in this change,' he said.
He further asserted that India's youth are making a significant mark across every global field, noting that their vibrant spirit and dynamic energy must now be deeply integrated into the nation's public services.
PM Modi also distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits under the Rozgar Mela initiative.
Congratulating the youth, the Prime Minister stated that they are stepping into their roles at a crucial juncture and will serve as responsible partners in the nation's growth story.
'Today, more than 51,000 youth have received appointment letters for government jobs. Today, all of you are becoming important partners, responsible partners, in the country's development journey,' PM Modi said while addressing the appointees.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the new inductions span several critical sectors, which will be instrumental in driving the country forward. (ANI)
